Dr. Dumbrigue studied Architecture for 2 years before deciding on dentistry as a career. He received his doctor of dental medicine (DDM) degree from the University of the Philippines, completed a 3-year prosthodontic residency at the University of California, San Francisco and a 2-year fellowship in maxillofacial prosthetics at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Dumbrigue was awarded a faculty fellowship in instructional design as an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and was recognized with the Educational Leadership Award in 1999. He is currently a Tenured Associate Professor at the Baylor College of Dentistry where he teaches and trains general dentists in advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry as Assistant Director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency Program.

Dr. Dumbrigue has authored 31 scientific and technical articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed dental journals. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Prosthodontics and has served as manuscript reviewer for Quintessence International. He has also served as manuscript reviewer for the medical journals Quality of Life Research and Annals of General Hospital Psychiatry. He has lectured in continuing dental and medical education programs nationally and internationally.

Dr. Dumbrigue is Board Certified in the Specialty of Prosthodontics. He is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, American Orthodontic Society, Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and the U.P. Alpha Sigma. Dr. Dumbrigue is a faculty member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
